Diamond Jubilee Party
The Diamond Jubilee took place in June 2012, marking 60 years of The Queen’s reign. The Queen came to the throne on 6th February 1952 and this was something many residents remember well and wanted to celebrate with us.  We enjoyed the event with parties and festivities in the homes, Residents also enjoyed watching the coverage on TV, it brought back many memories of past times.

Flower Power
‘Will the summer ever arrive?’ is the question we have all been asking ourselves.  We have not had much of a summer feeling so far this year.  The residents at Belvedere Lodge made the most of a sunny day in June to get out into the garden and plant our pots so that we will get a splash of colour over the next few months.

103rd Birthday
Congratulations to Tom who celebrated his 103rd Birthday in January with a trip to the pub with Teresa and Sue from Hengrove Lodge.

Love is in the Air
Residents enjoyed celebrating Valentine’s Day on 14 February.  We decorated the dining rooms for the day and prepared a special lunch. There were plenty of red roses, heart shaped chocolates and love heart sweets being shared around. Residents at Hengrove Lodge decorated heart cookies and we also completed Valentine’s wordsearches and crosswords.
