The
Home Environment
This
elegant Georgian House has been fully modernised
and adapted for use as a retirement home for the
elderly, whilst still retaining its character and
architectural features.
Set
in its own secluded grounds, with many mature trees,
the home is close to all village amenities, including
shops, churches and library.

Accommodation
Each
resident’s room is individual. We provide accommodation
for up to 17 elderly ladies and gentlemen of 65 years and
over. All have private facilities varying from a washhand
basin to an ensuite wc. All rooms are centrally heated and
are equipped with TVs and emergency-call systems. Residents
may have telephone lines installed in their rooms if they
wish. All of our rooms are single. Resident’s are encouraged
to bring their own possessions – furniture, pictures,
plants to personalise their private accommodation. |

| There
are two lounges on the ground floor, one is a large main lounge
area which also has a TV and video for residents use. The
second lounge offers a smaller more intimate seating space
where residents can sit quietly and read or talk. The dining
room is situated in our purpose built conservatory, which
has been designed in the style of the original Georgian house
to provide a light airy space. All floors can be reached via
our chairlifts. The residents telephone is situated with a
seating area in the quiet hallway at the ballroom side of
the lounge, local calls are free of charge, there is a recharge
for long distance calls. |

| Food
Our
cook provides a choice of home cooking at all meals. Vegetarian
meals and special dietary requirements such as diabetics
are catered for. Meals are normally taken in the lounge/dining
room. Mid-morning coffee and afternoon tea are served in
the lounge. All these arrangements are flexible and Resident’s’
guests are very welcome at all meals by prior arrangement.
